After about 20 years going from a pretty decent children's cable network to merely a husk of its former self, the channel formerly known as Sprout is reportedly set to shut down on March 6th, 2025.

Universal Kids was originally formed as "PBS Kids Sprout", a joint venture between PBS, Comcast, Sesame Workshop and HIT Entertainment (who have since then been practically shafted in favor of future owner Mattel's own production unit), Comcast would eventually buy the other three's stakes in 2013 after getting jiggy with NBCUniversal and would also rebrand it to Universal Kids just 4 years later.

If it wasn't obvious enough, this network should've died earlier.
