After 15 months, Israel and Hamas have finally agreed on a 42-day ceasefire. The 3-phase agreement, which takes effect Sunday, will see 33 Israeli hostages released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian women and children captive in Israel. Joe Biden, set to be replaced on the 20th of January by the "Man with the Tan", announced the news Wednesday, stating: "This deal will halt the fighting in Gaza, surge much-needed humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and reunite the hostages with their families after more than 15 months in captivity,"

This is obviously great news, as it will hopefully put an end to the suffering of the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of Netanyahu and the terrorist organization's arguing. However, it is important to note that the current massacres in Israel and Palestine did not start with October 7th. The conflict dates back to 1948, when Israel was first established by Jews fleeing from prosecution in Europe.

Just one of many examples of the damage done to Gaza. Jesus Christ.

Once all of the hostages are released, Gaza will inevitably have to repair and rebuild all of the destroyed buildings, which could take several years and cost billions of dollars. On top of that, THOUSANDS of civilians' lives were lost, and the emotional baggage that comes with something like that is near impossible to repair.

Despite all of that, the ceasefire paints a promising future for Palestine's continued survival.
