The Bad Guys 2 Trailer Released

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for DreamWorks Animation's "The Bad Guys 2", the sequel to their 2022 film "The Bad Guys" based off of Aaron Blabey's children's book "The Bad Guys". Did we mention the film is called "The Bad Guys"? "2"?

The first film released to very positive reviews from critics and audiences and grossed around $250 million worldwide; I cannot state my opinion on the film as I haven't watched it, I have heard good things though! The film was notable as it deviated from DreamWorks' usual style - opting to go for a more stylized 2D-esque comic book style which was popularized by the 2018 Sony Pictures Animation film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". The film also served as the start of a sort of renaissance era for DreamWorks, as most of their films released since have been met with mostly positive reviews.

"Bad Guys 2" takes place a year after the first film and sees the protagonists struggling to find acceptance in their new lives as "Good Guys", when they are forced out of retirement by a gang of all-female criminals to do one last job. The entire cast from the first film reprise their roles, along with Danielle Brooks, Maria Bakalova and Natasha Lyonne joining the cast as the new characters.

The film releases on August 1st, 2025.
